I'm 18 years old and ever since I've been 10 I've been a guitarist. Music is my passion, it's more than just another thing in my life. In addition to this I've also been a scholar since I started school; I l love physics and math and the like. Electrical Engineering is another great passion of mine; I've been making circuits and doing all the wiring and repairs on all of my bands equipment and around town for people for the last 5 years and I absolutely love it. Now my problem: I have unfortunately picked two extremes of living, on one hand I have a musical passion that I have far excelled in in my 8 years of playing, but on the other hand I have a bright engineering future that is a guarantee for success. My band was recently invited to play at a club in Los Angeles Ca where all the best musicians from Jimi Hendrix, to the Doors and The Beatles have played. That club of course is the Whiskey A GoGo and is a dream come true for a lead guitarist like myself. So I am not going into this blindly and I know my chances are slim, but I just feel my chances after collage, when im 26 or so, wont be as good and plus in order to find a group of musicians as tight as we are takes years to create, and everybody knows once your past 30 yrs old in the music business your time is up. I don't want to drag this on to all of you, but it's getting down to the point where i have to choose since (due to their extremity) only one should have all of my attention. My band is dedicated and they have all chosen music, but its just in my natural instinct to be scared of the "road not taken." This is my gift that I have been given. if you would like, please check out my bands page and tell me what you think. www.facebook.com/theroosband... Read More »
